Bejn iż-Żonqor u San Tumas

Between Żonqor and St Thomas lies more than a stretch of land: there is Wied il-Għajn as it is lived, remembered and continually reshaped by the people connected to it.

Part of the Voices from Marsaskala Bay Project, Bejn iż-Żonqor u San Tumas is an open gathering inviting participants to share stories, memories and experiences of the locality. The word bejn—“between”—refers not only to geography, but also to the space between past and present, long-standing residents and newer arrivals, personal memories and shared life.

Anyone with a connection to Wied il-Għajn is welcome: those who have lived there all their lives, those who arrived more recently, and those whose relationship with the locality takes another form. No preparation is needed—only a memory, a story or a little curiosity.

The event does not seek to produce one definitive account of Wied il-Għajn. It creates space for the many voices through which a place comes to recognise itself.
